What is Physiotherapy for?
Everyone!! For headache sufferers to athletes. From back aches to post-operative knee surgeries.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. In Canada, physiotherapists are primary healthcare practitioners. They are university trained to provide a medical diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. However, some insurance companies do require a physician referral.
Is Physiotherapy covered by my medical plan?
At one time, Physiotherapy was covered by provincial MSP. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. However, those individuals who are on premium assistance receive ten subsidized visits per calendar year. If you are unsure if you qualify simply give us a call and have your health care number available.
If you have an extended health plan (Blue Cross, SunLife etc.), Physiotherapy is usually covered. Our office may be able to direct bill for your physiotherapy sessions. Check your individual plan for details.
What about ICBC, WSBC (WCB) and DVA (Veterans Affairs)?
All three of these agencies cover Physiotherapy from accredited facilities like Valhalla Physiotherapy.
I work full-time. My daughter works shift work. How can you accommodate us?
Our therapists are committed to returning you to your busy schedule; not taking you away from it. We have early morning and evening appointments available.
Do you have a Massage Therapist?
We currently do not have a Registered Massage Therapist at Valhalla Physiotherapy. However, please feel free to contact our office as we have a list of recommended RMT's in the area.
